Shrikant Bharadwaj received his bachelor’s degree (BS) in Optometry from the Elite School of Optometry - BITS, Pilani, a PhD in Vision Science from the University of California - Berkeley School of Optometry, USA, and a post-doctoral fellowship from the Indiana University School of Optometry, Bloomington, USA. Dr Bharadwaj joined LVPEI in 2009 as a DBT Ramalingaswami Fellow and his research focuses on how the optics of the eye define spatial and depth vision. He uses psychophysics and computational techniques on human disease models like keratoconus, post-LASIK and post-corneal transplants where the optical degradations are exaggerated when compared to the normal eye to address these research questions. He is also interested in cortical plasticity and how the neural visual system of humans adapt to novel viewing experience encountered during aging and disease conditions. He has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals (Bharadwaj SR) and presented invited talks, research papers and posters at national and international conferences. He serves as an editorial board member of Scientific Reports and is a peer-reviewer for several international vision science journals. In addition to his research, Dr Bharadwaj also teaches actively at the LVPEI's Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry (BLSO) and functions as a project mentor for Optometry students at BLSO.
