Vinod Daniel is the CEO of India Vision Institute, Chairman of the Board for AusHeritage, Board Member of the International Council of Museums and President of the Board for the Australian operations of the Centre for Environmental Education. He was a “Board Member” of the Australia India Council for the period 1995-2011 and “Vice Chairman” of the International Council of Museums-Committee for Conservation for the period 2008-2014.
He worked as a Senior Manager at the Australian Museum (1995-2011) and a Senior Fellow at the Getty Conservation Institute (1991-1995). He was also a Visiting Fellow, Lowy Institute for International Policy (Sydney) in 2011, Adjunct Professional Associate, University of Canberra (20015-07) and Visiting Fellow, Australian National University (2005-07)
He was awarded the Indo-Australian Award for Meritorious Service by the Indo Australian Association in 2009, the International Council of Museums Australia award for International Relations in 2011, the Association of Community Opthalmologists of India (ACOIN) Golden Eye Award in 2012, the ASTRA (Association of Soft Skills Trainers) Service Excellence Award (2014) for sustainable contribution to the field of Human Resource Development and Human Resource Management relating to Cultural Heritage and Blindness Prevention and the Essilor Award for Outstanding Contribution to International Optometry in 2015.
He has worked on projects in over forty countries, published and presented over 80 technical papers on various aspects of heritage practice and management as well as public health in international journals and conferences. Been regularly interviewed by the media and has over 150 media articles.
